Nyquist Filters with Alternative Balance between Time- and Frequency-Domain Parameters
Designing matched pulse shaping filters with their cascade satisfying the Nyquist condition for minimum intersymbol interference constitutes an important task for almost all digital data radio transceivers processing an incoming data signal on the sampleby-sample basis. Despite their practical importance, there are only few sets of Nyquist filter definitions and design techniques to devise digi...
متن کاملAnalysis of the Relationship between the Business Cycle and Inflation Gap in Time-Frequency Domain
Controlling the business cycle and minimizing the inflation gap are considered as two major goals for monetary policy. Hence, the policymaker will be able to make more decisive decisions with an awareness of the dynamic relationship and causal relationship between these two variables. Accordingly, the present study uses a discrete and continuous wavelet transform to provide a new understanding ...
متن کاملAdaptive Beamforming with Partitioned Frequency-domain Filters
In this paper an adaptive broadband beamformer is presented which is based on a partitioned frequency-domain least-mean-square algorithm (PFDLMS). This block algorithm is known for its efficient computation and fast convergence even when the input signals are correlated. In applications where long filters are required but only a small processing delay is allowed, a frequency domain adaptive bea...
متن کاملAlternative Frequency and Time Domain Versions of Fractional Brownian Motion
This paper compares models of fractional processes and associated weak convergence results based on moving average representations in the time domain with spectral representations. Both approaches have been applied in the literature on fractional processes. We point out that the conventional forms of these models are not equivalent, as is commonly assumed, even under a Gaussianity assumption. W...
متن کاملRelations between Time Domain and Frequency Domain Prediction Error Methods
Prediction error techniques for joint identification of parametric transfer functions and noise models from measured data are considered. The time domain and frequency domain prediction error methods are presented and compared and their close connection with corresponding maximum-likelihood method is explored. Conditions are established under which the two techniques are asymptotically equivalent.
